Quectel Wireless Solutions, a renowned global provider of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, has recently introduced a new array of Wi-Fi 7 modules. These modules are specifically designed to cater to the needs of PC Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) seeking to incorporate Wi-Fi 7 into their devices’ connectivity technology repertoire.

Expanded Quectel Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 Modules

The newly broadened range of Quectel Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 modules includes the Quectel NCM825, NCM825A, NCM835, NCM865, and NCM865A. All these innovative modules offer comprehensive support for Intel and AMD x86 platforms. Moreover, they are compatible with the Snapdragon® X Elite platform, thereby facilitating exceptional Windows PC experiences.

Advanced Features and Specifications

Quectel’s NCM825, NCM835, and NCM865 series modules leverage the Qualcomm® FastConnect™ 7800 Mobile Connectivity system from Qualcomm Technologies. They facilitate simultaneous operation on the 2.4GHz plus 5GHz and 2.4GHz plus 6 GHz frequency bands. This functionality is made possible by 2 x 2 MIMO with dual band simultaneous (DBS) capability.

The NCM865 and NCM865A chipsets are equipped with High Band Simultaneous (HBS) technology, which significantly minimizes interference within the high-frequency spectrum. This technological advancement optimizes bandwidth usage, thereby reducing latency and enhancing data throughput. Furthermore, the modules support multi-link operation (MLO), a feature enabling routers to use multiple wireless bands and channels simultaneously to connect to a Wi-Fi 7 client. The NCM8x5 series benefits from MLO by achieving faster data rates, lower latency, and improved network reliability.

Enhanced User Experience and Network Reliability

Quectel Wireless Solutions aims to provide more versatile options to PC OEMs by introducing these Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 modules. By utilizing the performance of multi-link operation in conjunction with dual band simultaneous capability, Quectel assures end users of faster data access, ultra-low latency, and continuous outstanding network reliability. This technological advancement broadens the performance capabilities for manufacturers and offers their customers richer experiences and greater flexibility.

Superior Performance and Compatibility

The new modules also support 4K-QAM and 320MHz bandwidth, which enables them to attain a maximum data rate of 5.8Gbps. This allows for ultra-low latency and real-time response, which are crucial for laptop use cases. Additionally, the modules integrate and support dual Bluetooth, 2Mbps Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), LE audio, and BLE Long Range.

Dimensions and Operating Conditions

The Quectel NCM825 series has dimensions of 16.0mm x 20.0mm x 1.80mm, while the NCM865 series measures 22.0mm x 30.0mm x 2.25mm. These modules can operate within a temperature range of -10 °C to +65 °C. Variants of these modules have been certified by regulators across the world, demonstrating their global acceptance and compatibility.
