Vishay has announced its new product for the military and aviation industry. The new product is a wet-tantalum capacitor whose capacity is the largest of the housing used. An EP1 capacitor has been designed for use with THT and SMD, as well as in various housing variants.
The EP1 capacitor was built on the basis of SuperTan technology created directly by Vishay. Thanks to used SuperTan technology, the EP1 capacitor in configuration A achieves capacities from 2000 μF to 30000 μF for operating voltages from 25 VDC to 125 VDC. The capacitor tolerance is standard 20% with a 10% tolerance. Variants C and B are expected at a later date, at the end of 2017 and 2018 respectively.

Increased reliability has been achieved by using a tantalum housing hermetically sealed. The capacitor has been designed for applications in radar, aerospace, pulse power, and laser energy storage applications. The EP1 is operating at temperatures from -55 ° C to 85 ° C and reaches a maximum electron spin resonance value for 0.030 Ω at 1 kHz and 25 ° C. This product is RoHS compliant for tin conditions.
