M12 connectors have the fastest connection method, which is called Quickon and has been developed by Phoenix Contact. The operation consists in switching over the cable gland, placing the wires of the conductor in the locations of the corresponding colors, isolating and cutting off the excess cables and twisting the terminals of the connector. The contacts are prepared by making the individual wires through the cutters. The supported data rate is up to 10 Gbps, it is a CAT6A model. The diameter of the shielded cables is maximum 9.7 mm and the wires are 26-22AWG.
In addition, Phoenix Contact has released a tool to repair or change the length of the wires without any loss of data throughput and the tightness of the connection. This solution is a new connector that has Quickon connectors on its ends. This is a very interesting proposition for current users of down boxes.
