NXP Semiconductors has introduced a new single-chip solution that combines a full NFC reader, a customizable Arm Cortex-M33 MCU, and a complete security toolbox to provide faster and more secure NFC authentication. The PN7642 solution integrates SESIP-Level 2 security, making it ideal for applications such as physical access solutions, consumables authentication, and secure identity verification.
The PN7642 solution includes a high-performance NFC Forum-Certified NFC reader with 2W output power. The customizable Arm Cortex-M33 MCU includes 180kB flash, 20kB RAM, and a rich set of controller and host interfaces. The solution has also achieved SESIP-Level 2 certification, which means that it has been independently tested and certified to meet the stringent security requirements specified by GlobalPlatform’s Secure Element Security Implementation Package.
The complete security toolbox includes crypto accelerators, secure key storage, and secure communication protocols, among others, providing a high level of security for NFC transactions. The certification provides assurance that the PN7642 solution is designed to provide a high level of security for applications such as physical access solutions, consumables authentication, secure identity verification, and other NFC use cases.
