ADLINK Technology Inc., known globally for its groundbreaking advances in edge computing, has introduced its newest offering: the EMU-200 series. This next-gen IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) gateway has been meticulously designed to address data networking challenges in multiple intense environments such as renewable energy sectors, EV charging hubs, advanced building management systems, and real-time factory equipment monitoring.

Central to the EMU-200 series is its integrated smart software, the EGiFlow web console. This tool revolutionizes the setup process by allowing effortless assimilation of various communication protocols. It paves the way for a simplified deployment across diverse environments, ensuring engineers spend less time on development and more on implementation.

The synergy between EGiFlow and EMU-200 transforms the historically intricate data transmission tasks. With pre-set data flow settings, solution developers can now streamline data collection, transfer, and filtration from diverse sources using a simplified three-stage setup.

In terms of connectivity, the EMU-200 series is leagues ahead. It supports a spectrum of primary industrial communication standards, including Modbus TCP/RTU, MQTT, and OPC UA. Plans are also underway to integrate open charging point protocols (OCPP) for EV charging. With abundant I/O interfaces and both Wi-Fi and 4G/LTE connectivity, the gateway bridges remote IO and Ethernet DAQ systems, guaranteeing uninterrupted connectivity from local setups to vast cloud platforms.

Driven by the ARM Cortex-A9 processor, the EMU-200 boasts of unrivaled power efficiency. This makes it particularly well-suited for environments with stringent power supply regulations. Its compact design, paired with its adaptability – demonstrated by its ability to function in temperatures ranging from -20 to 70°C – ensures it can thrive even in the most challenging conditions.

Jeremy Wu, Director of the Open Instrument Business Product Center, commented on the release: “The EMU-200 isn’t just prepped for immediate application; it’s an open canvas. Its design encourages further development, ensuring it can cater to a multitude of applications, from platform to fully integrated solutions.”

For those invested in electronics education and scientific exploration, ADLINK’s EMU-200 series presents a promising future, serving as both a tool and a testament to the leaps electronic innovation has made.
