Poker is a great game to play in a group of people or in a team, but trying to track the turns of a dealer by passing their chip around can become tiring… fast. Redditor tatey13 thought of to design an individual Poker table with additional features to make playing easier and more enjoyable.
The table was originally an old dining table, and was quickly removed and sanded. It also had a massive oval cut out of its center to create space for lighting and a play area that was soft. In addition, eight spaces were made around the table in even intervals. Each space has the metal container and a push button that lights up to get user inputs. An LED-length strip attached to the inside of the table in order to display details about the current turn and time.
To manage everything it was decided to use it was decided to use an Arduino Mega was selected because of its massive quantity of flash storage as well as GPIO pins. It starts with waiting until players sign up, and when 20 seconds have passed from the first button presses when the game is launched. The dealer is selected randomly and the two places directly to their left and left of them are the big and small blinds. If a player takes too long, a different player as well as the dealer can start a timer in order to make things move along. When all but one player has left the game is concluded and the winner is displayed by green LEDs.
