STMicroelectronics expands 5V op-amp family, to optimize power and signal-conditioning performance

STMicroelectronics added the TSV782 high performance dual opamp to its 5V family. It has a 30MHz gain bandwidth (GBW), and a 50uV input offset voltage (typically) for high-speed signal conditioning.

The TSV782 can function from a supply of as low as 2.0V and extends the life of equipment like smoke alarms. Designers can maximize their application energy budget by using a low operating current of 3.3mA per channel to power more functions, such as smart features and wireless connectivity. To simplify system design and reduce the cost of materials, the opamp can operate at 2.0V.

The TSV782 has rail-to rail input and output, and a maximum slewrate of 20V/us. It joins other rail-to rail devices in ST’s high-performance family. The TSV772, with GBW of 20MHz, maximum slewrate 13V/us and a maximum slewrate of 5mA per channel, is another example. The TSV7722, and other related products are also included in the portfolio of opamps. These op amps have a low rail input stage that is optimized for low side current measurements in power converter systems. Designers can create circuits with high accuracy using ST’s 5V Op-amp family. This saves expensive components like precision resistors or potentiometers.

The TSV782 now has a maximum input bias current (300pA) up to 125degC. This allows for accurate signal conditioning using high-impedance sensors and transimpedance configurations. The TSV782 has entered mass production. There are three package options: MiniSO-8, SO-8 and DFN8, which are the smallest packages available for this class of opamp.
